Kapilana Resort Guest Guidelines
Before you can check in, you will be required to sign an ackowledgement that you will comply with our guidelines. Failure to do so can result in charges (up to $250) against your credit card and/or eviction without refund. Our guidelines can be summarized as
Be Civilized, Be Courteous, Be Considerate, Be Safe

Call 573-348-2151 or email us at info@kapilana.net to reserve a
Lake of the Ozarks vacation rental.
We have some great deals!

NO SMOKING INSIDE ANY ACCOMMODATION.

  • Quiet hours are observed from 10 p.m. to 9 a.m.  Outside of these times, we ask that sound (including conversation – it travels around the cove) be kept to a level that will not disturb other residents or guests.
  • Pool hours are 9 AM to 9 PM.
  • Adults must accompany children under 14 (be inside the pool enclosure) at the pool.
  • No glass containers allowed in the pool enclosure. A breakage is a disaster!!!
  • Foul language and behavior which, in our opinion is not in keeping with the Kapilana character will be grounds for immediate eviction without refund.
  • Fire regulations and our insurers prohibit the use of barbecues on decks or balconies. If your grill is stored on a deck or close to a building, please move it 10 feet away from the building before use.
  • The condos have one grill each, don’t just take someone else’s- it’s theirs and it’s probably not a rental Suite!
  • Remember your accommodation is someone’s pride and joy so please respect that. Keep shoes off furniture and bedding - removing them at the door is a great idea.
  • Carrying your grease dripping BBQ out to the deck is not a good idea – use a plate! If there is a spillage on the carpet DO NOT use cleaner, just cold water and paper towel. We’ll try to take care of any staining.
  • Don’t hang towels or clothing from decks, balconies or on the pool fence.
  • Please don’t sleep on the decorative pillows; we will charge to launder them. Ask if you need additional pillows.
  • This is the Ozarks and it’s not flat! There are significant drop offs all around the property so please take care.
  • You will be living between water and trees so there are bugs!! If you leave your door open, they will take up your invitation to join you inside. The door being open with the A/C on also wastes energy - Mr. Obama will be upset!
  • Beach House Guests – don’t put anything flammable or which might melt on top of your stoves.  The pilot light generates a surprising amount of heat.
  • Our landscaping rocks belong on the land. Throwing them in the lake leaves you open to accusations of hitting a dock or boat. Not nice!
  • Don’t flush anything such as paper towels, sanitary wipes etc. They cause backups.
  • There are fish cleaning stations on docks A, B, C and E. Please use them and NOT your kitchen.Swim at your own risk, there are no lifeguards. Also, there are multiple underwater structures and anchor cables around the lake. Diving in to the water anywhere is dangerous and could cause serious injury.
  • All boats and/or boat trailers should be parked in the upper lot. All parking is on a first-come, first-served basis. You have 2 parking spaces, including trailer parking. If the lot is full you must keep your trailer at the State park.
  • Please avoid causing an obstruction (physical or visual) when you park and park only in marked spaces.
  • Always observe the no-wake areas surrounding the docks. PWCs are not allowed in the swim area.
  • Our landscaping rocks belong on the land. Please don’t throw them in the lake as you might hit a dock or a boat or if you don’t hit one, you could be accused of doing so.
  • It is vital that you use the boat slip that was assigned to you at check-in. We don’t own all of the slips and the owners may untie your boat! The slips are their owner’s private property and they have the right to use them.
  • We don’t provide pool or beach towels. If you need to clean your boat, we have a “rag bag” at the office full of abused towels we’ve had to discard. You are welcome to use it.
  • Towels from the Poolside and Beach House units can be exchanged between 9 and 11 AM. Please use your towels as long as possible to save energy and reduce the amount of detergent in the environment. Our Lakefront Suites are equipped with washers and dryers. Ladies (and possibly Gentlemen?)  makeup does NOT come out of the towels.  Please use the makeup wipes where provided.
  • We understand accidents can happen. Please let us know about any damage, spillage, breakage etc.  We can take care of it easier that way (and are less likely to charge for it) rather than “discovering it” after you leave.
  • Trash should be taken to the dumpsters located at the Winn Road entrance or in the Aqua Drive parking lot.
  • Check out time is 10:00 a.m.  A later check-out time may be available on request for an additional charge.
  • All we ask on check out is that you do your dishes and take your trash (includes emptying ash trays). Leave the keys in the unit and let us know you’ve left. If not, we’ll just show up at 10!
